Nominations Now Open for Manitoba Jazz Musician of the Year and Xerox Jazz Educator of the Year Awards Jazz Winnipeg is now accepting applications for the Manitoba Musician of the Year and the Xerox Jazz Educator of the Year. The Xerox Jazz Educator of the Year Award honours one outstanding Manitoba educator who encourages and inspires students to grow musically and academically. By encouraging young people to learn and appreciate music, jazz educators play an essential role in shaping the future of our communities. Each year, one outstanding artist is named the Manitoba Jazz Musician of the Year for significant contributions to jazz in our province. Nominees must reside in Manitoba and demonstrate professionalism and excellence in jazz performance. Jazz Winnipeg will honour the successful candidates during the Groove FM Jazz Winnipeg Festival. The complete line-up will be announced in April for the 2008 Festival which runs June 20-29 in downtown Winnipeg.
