| Fenom is a singer/songwriter and a talented lyricist. Quite content in her hometown of Winnipeg (though ready to take on the world), she has been performing since the age of 5, first becoming involved in the art of dance. Now all grown up, she has chosen to take her passions to the next level. She joined the Winnipeg Hip Hop crew Bonafide, and things snowballed from there. Promoters began to notice that perhaps there were some "Lauryn Hill-esque" qualities in the group's lone female member. Collectively the decision was made to push Fenom as a solo artist, and she has since been a feature on college and commercial radio, performed at Toronto's Honey Jam, and shared the stage with many world-renowned artists. Embracing her Caribbean roots, she is also quite proud to be heavily involved in reggae music. She held the #2 spot on Galaxie Reggae station's charts with the hit “Lover's Paradise” (featuring Mello Man) and she has also had the privilege to open for award-winning artists Sean Paul, Beanie Man, and Singing Melody. So what's next for this up-and-coming songstress? A new 4-song demo she has created with the help of a Manitoba Film & Sound grant will hopefully get her music into the right hands. The opportunity to perform as a finalist during the CMW 2008 Canadian Radio Star competition is one of her recent milestones, so only time will tell.
