| Jeff Presslaff made Winnipeg his home in 1997 and has since become well-known for inventive and accomplished playing, writing, leadership, and activism. In a nearly 40-year career that began in New York, he has performed and collaborated with many great artists, including Benny Carter, Bob Brookmeyer, Bill Barron, Roswell Rudd, Bill Watrous, Stanley Jordan, and Frank Foster. In Winnipeg, he is best known for his work with the Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra and Papa Mambo, for whom he has composed/arranged and produced four albums. He is also revered for his prolific freelance performances and his many special productions for Jazz Winnipeg. His longtime interest in European classical music and the great musical traditions of India, the Mideast, Africa, Japan, and the Americas has led him to his current piano trio concept, which features the versatile musicality of bassist Julian Bradford and Afro-Cuban/Brazilian percussion expert Scott Senior.
