Stranded in Winnipeg after a botched spaceship landing many years ago, the young lunar lad known as Jonny Moonbeam is becoming universally renowned for his assembly of the musical ensemble collectively known as Jonny Moonbeam and the Lunatics. Comprised of bassist Julian Bradford, trumpet player Simon Christie, drummer-at-large Curtis Nowosad, and organ/pianist Alexander Campbell, the group features some of Winnipeg's finest up-and-coming players of the city’s illustrious music scene. As nephew of and frequent bandleader for local entertainer Rocki Rolletti (Peter Jordan), one could say turning a good time into a party is something of a family trait for Moonbeam. Famous for their high-energy delivery, entertaining live show, and unmatched musical performance, the Lunatics are the perfect complement to Jonny’s idiosyncratic, quirky, and clever songwriting, reminiscent of the Beatles, Sly Stone, but with a certain catchy cosmic vibe all its own.
