A Norwegian by birth, pianist Knut Haugsoen is known for his creative Scandinavian and Latin-inspired compositions. His music has been performed by acclaimed musicians such as Eddie Henderson and Jamie Haddad, and the lineup on the Juno-nominated CD Step and a Half includes highly rated Canadian Jazz musicians such as Ingrid Jensen, who will be joining Haugsoen for this performance. Originally from Nanaimo, BC, Jensen is an internationally acclaimed trumpeter who has recorded on several albums as well as three under her own leadership. She has performed with Dr. Lonnie Smith, Gary Bartz, and Corrine Bailey Rae. In addition to performing, she conducts master classes, clinics, and workshops around the world.
