Since the release of her debut full-length album This is Now in 2007, Lindsey White and her four-piece band continue writing, arranging, and developing a sound described as "an eclectic mix of blues and funk immersed in a solid folk-rock foundation." Growing up playing classical piano, Lindsey quickly discovered an innate ability to express the piano's emotions in different ways, by making it laugh, growl, cry, bellow and withdraw using a combination of delicate funk and fascinatingly unconventional groove. Being a prolific writer, Lindsey fell deeply in love with composing music and was soon captured permanently by songwriting. Her debut EP What's New soon followed. She also began to lend her ferocious voice to the a cappella group, Mindset, who have managed to harness her unruly wailing and use their combined vocal power for good and not evil (most of the time). Determined to be taken seriously as a musician, and specifically a female guitar player, she has spent the last ten years honing her guitar skills and all the while continually reinventing the personality of the piano. With her stunning vocals and unconventional songwriting style, Lindsey White is hitting the road this year to prove to the rest of western Canada that "this is now." And the way things are going for White, "now" is only the beginning.
