The Provincial Archive

Saturday, June 16 @ 8:20pm
Old Market Square

Grungy power-pop trio The Provincial Archive pay homage to a range of rock and folk styles with their layered, synthetic textures, straightforward pop-rock, and distorted, thrashing sounds. The Edmonton band’s first album, Nameless Places, was released in 2009, followed by the 2010 release of Maybe We Could Be Holy. Their third album, 2014’s It’s All Shaken Wonder, features melancholic, thoughtfully arranged, and catchy songs that won them the Edmonton Music Prize. Their latest self-titled EP, released in 2015, was recorded live-off-the-floor and features lyrics more reminiscent of the emotional, anxious style of '90s indie rock.
