Onna Lou, an Argentinian-Canadian artist based in Winnipeg since 2016, blends traditional folk with contemporary sounds. She holds degrees from Berklee College of Music and Universidad Católica Argentina.
Her third studio album *Quiero verte volar* will be out November 21, 2025. It has been created with the support of Manitoba Arts Council, and Manitoba Film and Music.
A 2023 Western Canadian Music Awards nominee for Global Artist of the Year, she began touring Canada in 2022, performing every year in cities like Vancouver, Toronto, Ottawa, and Victoria while also regularly performing in Argentina.
Her 2022 album, *Diamante*, supported by the Canada Council for the Arts, spent 15 weeks on the Earshot Charts, hitting #1 on three. As part of the 3.4% of female producers, she writes, plays, and records her own music.
Onna Lou brings a unique touch to her live performances, often incorporating distinctive elements such as two cellos. At this year's festival, she will debut a new 7-piece band format featuring a string quintet and percussionist Julian Vidal—a powerful arrangement that also defines the sound of her upcoming album
Her music has been featured on CBC, CKUA, LiveTV, newspapers, and podcasts internationally. In March 2025 she started promoting her third album with a BC tour presented by Home Routes.
