Esteban Seunarine + The Kind Ghosts - Jazz at the Fort Garry Hotel
Esteban Seunarine has built a musical language from everything he was never supposed to combine. The rhythms of the Caribbean and Latin America were the sound of his childhood home; the indie and folk scenes of the Canadian prairies were the sound of the city that claimed him. He didn't choose between them, and he still hasn't.
The recipient of the 2026 SABIAN–Dom Famularo–SEN Mentorship Award, Seunarine is releasing The Expanding Whatever in fall 2026 — his third album, and his most personal. Where earlier records negotiated between his influences, this one simply lets them coexist. Jazz fusion and prairie folk, the grand and the mundane, the ambitious and the unhurried. It is music that pays attention to small things — the moments most people don't think to write songs about — and finds in them something worth sitting with.
MIGRANTES with Mauro Sigura and Andrea Manzoni - Jazz at the Fort Garry Hotel
MIGRANTES was born from the artistic meeting of pianist Andrea Manzoni and oud player Mauro Sigura. Structured in three acts—The Dream, The Hope, and The Journey—the project unfolds through immersive soundscapes that weave together jazz, Arab-Ottoman traditions, classical music, and global influences.
More than a concert, Migrantes is a narrative and sonic experience in which migration becomes an inner journey—a movement of the soul as much as of the body. The duo’s richly pluralistic musical language reflects the diverse cultural influences that shape their work, creating a captivating dialogue between traditions and contemporary expression.

The trio has been playing together for nearly two decades and has enjoyed numerous performances with Kevin over the years, including private and corporate events. In June, the trio opened the Winnipeg International Jazz Festival at the Cube, while Danny and Nenad also performed as part of the Leo Mol Jazz Garden series in July.

ABOUT ORIGINAL ALBUM
Buena Vista Social Club was a musical ensemble primarily made up of Cuban musicians.
They named the group after the members' club of the same name in the Buenavista quarter of Havana, a popular music venue in the 1940s that encapsulates Cuba's "musical golden age" between the 1930s and 1950s.
Buena Vista Social Club became a huge "word of mouth hit", far beyond that of most world music releases. It sold more than one million copies and won a Grammy award in 1998. it was listed by Rolling Stone magazine as #260 in The 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.
ABOUT MUSICIANS
- Amber Epp brings amazing Jazz/Latin vocals and superb jazz piano skills with warm and cheery personality.
She first encountered Latin music in Canada, but it was not until her moving to Cuba that she discovered her Latin soul. Singing in the open-air patios of Old Havana fueled the fire for this contagiously rhythmic music. Her mastery of Latin Jazz conveys her infectious passion.
- Papa Mambo Created by Chilean-born classical guitarist Rodrigo Muñoz in 1989, Winnipeg’s Papa Mambo started out as a spirited party band and soon became recognized as one of the most skillful, exciting and important innovators in Canada’s Latin music scene. The group features some of Winnipeg’s most sought-after musicians.

Jazz at the Fort Garry: Juvel
Juvel is the musical project of four dynamic musicians who strive to keep your toes tapping with the energetic sound of Romani jazz and early swing. Heavily inspired by musicians like Django Reinhardt and the Andrews Sisters, Juvel combines the dark, chromatic flavor of Romani music with cheeky, lush four-part harmonies and the carefree liveliness of swing.
Jazz at the Fort Garry Hotel is located in The Club Room on the lower level of The Fort Garry Hotel. The venue is wheelchair accessible with assistance - please inform the hotel's front desk staff if you'd like to use the elevator to access the lower level.
Winnipeg Jazz Orchestra presents Reelin' in More Years: A Steely Dan Tribute
Donald Fagen and Walter Becker were jazz fans who turned to rock and roll only after hearing The Beatles, forming the iconic band Steely Dan. Over the years they recorded a string of hits - catchy yet harmonically sophisticated and rhythmically nuanced - that reflected their affection for great jazz music. Laurent Roy, Leonard Shaw and friends bring their popular show back to Winnipeg in a unique big band setting with the WJO.
