Jazz Winnipeg is seeking 2–3 creative, organized, and enthusiastic Production Assistants through the Canada Summer Jobs program to help deliver the TD Winnipeg International Jazz Festival, taking place June 16–21, 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain valuable hands-on experience in a fast-paced music and event production environment while contributing to one of Winnipeg’s signature cultural events.
Jazz Winnipeg is a charitable, not-for-profit arts organization dedicated to celebrating and advancing jazz and creative music in our community through concerts, education initiatives, and audience engagement.
About the role
Production Assistants will support the planning and delivery of the TD Winnipeg International Jazz Festival in a variety of ways, including festival logistics, volunteer coordination, venue preparation, event operations, and administrative support.
These are active, fast-paced roles that involve both pre-festival planning and on-site work during the festival itself.
Areas of focus may include:
volunteer coordination
event logistics, production, and technical support
box office, venue, and sponsor activations
What You’ll Do
Support the planning and delivery of the TD Winnipeg International Jazz Festival, June 16–21, 2026.
Assist with production logistics including supplier coordination, equipment orders, volunteer coordination, and venue prep.
Help manage schedules, inventories, and administrative tasks.
Work on-site during the festival supporting set-up, operations, and tear-down, ensuring a smooth and professional event experience.
One position will focus on volunteer coordination.
One position will focus on event logistics, production & technical
One position will focus on box office, venue and sponsor activations
What You Bring
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Passion for arts and culture, experience or interest in live events or festivals is an asset.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
A valid Manitoba Class 5 driver’s license is required.
Must be physically able to lift equipment and work long, active days.
Position details
8-week term: May 4–June 28, 2026
Compensation: $18/hour
Hours: Approximately 35 hours/week in the lead-up to the festival
Festival week: Must be available for extended hours, approximately 10 hours/day, from June 16–21, 2026
Availability: Must be available evenings and weekends
Location: 007–100 Arthur Street, Winnipeg

These positions are supported by the Canada Summer Jobs program. Applicants must meet the following eligibility criteria:
Be between 15 and 30 years of age at the start of employment
Be a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred under the Immigration and Refugee Protection Act for the duration of employment
Have a valid Social Insurance Number at the start of employment and be legally entitled to work in Canada in accordance with relevant provincial or territorial legislation and regulations
