A crooner who can turn stories into melodies—the perfect way to describe 25-year-old jazz vocalist, songwriter, and producer Rein. The Filipino-Canadian artist is most notable for blending indie pop with jazz, bossa nova, R&B, and folk music.
Rein captured the attention of global fans after releasing tracks like the bossa nova sounds of "Piggy Bank” and the jazzy, heartfelt tune “I’ve Loved You." In 2023, Rein performed at the Winnipeg International Jazz Festival, one of the biggest events in the capital city of Manitoba, Canada. The young artist had the opportunity to perform a full jazz and indie music set in Toronto, Canada at The Emmet Ray Whisky Jazz Bar in 2024.
His second album, “Ebbs and Flows,” exemplifies Rein’s versatility in storytelling, songwriting, music production, and genre. Tracks like “You Are Mine” and “Too Good for Me” combine pop and the classic sounds of jazz, while “I’m Almost 25” and “Bubble Tea” give listeners a glimpse into Rein’s personal experiences.
With new ideas and stories jotted down on his Notes app, Rein is always experimenting with new styles and genres that reflect his ever-involving songwriting experiences.
