Elise Roller
CEO / Artist Manager / A&R, Misfit Music MGMT & Odd Doll Records
Elise Roller (she/her) is the founder and CEO of Misfit Music Inc., a Winnipeg-based artist development and management company, and umbrella of the newly launched Odd Doll Records. In 2023, she was awarded Entrepreneur of the Year at the Women in Music Canada Honours, received Manitoba’s Kevin Walters Legacy award, and has been nominated for Manager of the Year at the Canadian Live Music Awards two years in a row, making the shortlist in 2024. Roller made the Top 5 at the StartUp Canada pitch competition in Winnipeg for their innovative Artist Evolution program, and Misfit, as a whole, has been nominated for 2025 Organization of the Year at Women in Music Canada Honours and 2024 Western Canadian Music Award for Impact in Artist Development.
Actively involved in the Canadian music scene since 2008, she built her entire music career as a single mom, cleaning homes around Calgary, AB to support her recording and touring endeavours as a solo artist and member of blues-rock band Go For The Eyes. She began dabbling in artist development and music business admin, recognizing her talent for networking, strategic planning, and ability to champion music peers. In 2015 she moved to Winnipeg, MB to become part of its thriving music scene and, there, she fronted heavy metal grunge band, Solhounds, for a couple years before throwing out the ripped jeans to put on a power suit.
In Winnipeg, Roller’s music career grew exponentially. She spent four years as the Industry Development Coordinator at Manitoba Music connecting music creators and industry professionals on an international scale, building training programs for music entrepreneurs, and offering career development consultations to the music community as a whole. Among the many hats Roller has worn, she served four years as Pride Winnipeg’s main stage producer, has booked and managed tours for several Canadian acts, and has undertaken the management of many successful projects, from creative to live to production, for a number of artists.
Roller launched Misfit in 2021 announcing a full-time management roster and its Artist Evolution program which provides accessible, holistic mentorship, and empowers music creators with confidence, strategies, and networks necessary to manage their own careers. At its core, Misfit aims to prioritize, develop, motivate, and amplify the voices of equity-seeking artists. Odd Doll Records was launched under Misfit’s umbrella, as the first women-owned label in Manitoba, with distribution from The Orchard in February 2025.
Roller is a social butterfly, master networker, and has an innate ability to connect with anyone and everyone. Her passion to support, inspire, and show appreciation for music creators has positioned her as a beloved leader and mentor within the global music community.
