Mari Padeanu is a pop-funk vocalist, composer, and lyricist, who draws inspiration from the likes of Amy Winehouse, Ella Fitzgerald, Stevie Wonder, Norah Jones, and Theo Katzman. They intertwine dynamic lines, bluesy chord progressions, and clever lyrics, delivering a soulful fusion of original music complimented by their deep contralto range and intimate storytelling.

Born and raised on Treaty 1 Territory in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Mari grew up in a household that encouraged musical growth and exploration. Originally trained in classical piano, they grew more and more interested in singing and went on to complete a Bachelor’s Degree in Vocal Jazz Performance at the University of Manitoba.
