Meta-Clave is a 15 piece powerhouse band made up of Winnipeg city's best players joining together to deliver Cuban Timba, the exciting and predominant genre of Cuban style salsa to come out of Cuba since the 90's. Including the best Cuban music percussionists in Winnipeg, a wall-of-sound horn section, tight back-up vocals, a Cuban Tres (guitar), and two keyboards, this band will not only have you dancing but singing along to improvised choruses and mambo sections.

The Meta-Clave big band was born from the mind of Victor Hugo Lopez who since the 00's has been regularly present on the Latin, R&B/Hip-hop, jazz scene as a guitarist and composer, but who in his evolution as a musician now aims at taking on the roll of singer/bandleader in this project. The band's debut at The Osborne Taphouse delivered the kind of show Winnipeg salsa dancers have been craving, and left them with the questions "When will Meta-Clave be playing again? When will Meta-Clave be in la calle?!"
