Vox Populi Play Stevie Wonder's Innervisions | TD Winnipeg International Jazz Festival

  • Fort Garry Hotel Club Room 222 Broadway Winnipeg, MB, R3C Canada (map)

Heavily steeped in the tradition of pop and soul music, Vox Populi is a collective of five friends, intent on pushing the boundaries of contemporary pop music. Injected with elements of classic soul along with slick harmonies, the burgeoning quintet draws heavily upon 80’s inspired synth tones, sweet guitar riffs and pocket drum grooves, all while crafting new and memorable melodies. Unified by a desire to get audiences out of their chairs and up on their feet, dance is the most important element and key feature of the band’s sound.

Performing since 2015, Vox Populi continues to polish and refine their sound, delivering tight, action-packed performances. Career highlights include opening for Juno nominated vocalist Tanika Charles on her first Canadian national tour, as well as kicking off the 2017 Winnipeg International Jazz Festival at Old Market Square.

Bandleader Carter Graham’s intent is to continue to build upon the great pop music that has come before, and it’s easy to hear the influence that artists like Stevie Wonder, George Duke and the Beatles have had on his compositional output. Backed by an all-star cast of musicians, including Kevin Waters (drums), Aaron Shorr (guitar), Julian Bradford (bass) and Sheena Rattai (vocals), Vox Populi guarantees a fun-filled night out with friends.
