Community Programs
Jazz Winnipeg creates and supports opportunities to experience, learn, make, and connect through jazz.
From year-round performances and major festival programming to music education, artist development, community outreach, and creative collaborations, our programs support artists, audiences, and the growth of jazz in Manitoba.
Canadian Jazz Summit
Presented with the University of Manitoba Jazz Studies program, the Canadian Jazz Summit has welcomed esteemed guests from across Canada to lead masterclasses, workshops, concert presentations and more at the Desautels Faculty of Music since 2020.
The Bridge: Music for Life
Jazz Winnipeg is proud to support The Bridge: Music for Life, a youth music program bringing together students from diverse communities to learn, create, and perform. Rooted in jazz education, mentorship, and learning by ear, The Bridge helps young musicians grow through collaboration and performance while building confidence, leadership, connection, and identity.
Jazz Ambassadors
In its inaugural year, the Jazz Ambassadors program connected young musicians with festival audiences to talk about music, the future of jazz, and supporting emerging artists. Participants also met mentors and festival performers, gaining behind-the-scenes experiences and insight into professional music careers.
You Can Help Support Jazz in Our Community
