Karly Epp (voice) and Karl Kohut (bass) are Winnipeg-based artists and longtime collaborators who have worked together extensively for over a decade. Each an established artist in their own right, they regularly collaborate on projects grounded in a shared love of straight-ahead swing and more contemporary jazz, with a musical chemistry that has become a defining feature of their performances.
After several years in New York City studying with leading jazz artists and performing at the city’s top venues, they returned to Winnipeg in 2018 to join the Desautels Faculty of Music at the University of Manitoba. They work regularly in Winnipeg and beyond as performers, recording artists, clinicians, and presenters, both individually and together.
Deeply connected to the city’s jazz community, they bring experience, professionalism, and thoughtful artistic perspective to every project, contributing meaningfully as musicians and collaborators both on and off the stage.
